Bill

I have a dirt bike I would like to refit with an electric motor what would be your recommendation for researching info to do this and contacts for parts?

You can look at the Killacycle sponsors and you will see Hi-Torque Electric. Jim can help you pick out the perfect motor for you electric motocycle. You can get the battery charger from Manzanita Micro. You can get the controller from Cafe Electric. Some good places for conversion books and conversion parts are:
MegaWattMotorWorks
KTA Services

Does Jim Husted at Hi-Torque Electric also work on AC motors? Does he like AC motors and does he appreciate the advantages of AC over DC?

Hey-

The silver motor on the shelf behind Jim looks like the WEstinghouse 3HP motor that Jim finished for my 1911 Hupp-Yeats electric ( www.evalbum.com/1018 )

Or maybe not.

Jim does amazing work. I just got my Westinghouse back from him and it's awesome...will post on my site soon.
